Georgia Dacesport is comprised of individuals committed to bringing world class amateur DanceSport to Georgia. Our members are dedicated amateur DanceSport enthusiast who are either competitors, parents of competitors, or people who just love DanceSport. We support amateur competitors of all ages. The organization started as an idea from Holly Iyer. She had witnessed the success of the long running “Gumbo” competition of Baton Rouge, LA and wanted that success to be repeated here. Holly teamed up with Mark Garber, then president of Atlanta Metro DanceSport and a long time volunteer with USA Dance, Inc. They decided to establish a state wide non-profit with the focused mission of establishing a national competition in Atlanta. The organization hosted a small, non-sanctioned event in 2014 and will host it’s first USA Dance sanctioned NQE, The Georgia Dancesport Amateur Competition, May 20 – 22, 2016 at the Westin Perimeter North in Atlanta.
